In memoriam: Jack Thomas, 1930 - 2015. A Korean war veteran, accomplished woodcarver and flute maker, Jack also received numerous local, state, national and international awards in archery. He was a wonderful man, and we miss him greatly. He loved sharing with and teaching others his many talents, especially archery and flute making.

Jack was a co-founder of the "Carolinas Flute Circle". He primarily made commissioned flutes for collectors, and was known for his unusual flutes in highly realistic carved shapes including rattlesnakes, alligators, tomahawks, and totem poles. He decorated the bodies of flutes with relief carved wildlife scenes and basketweave patterns. Click here to see some of Jack's flutes.

Before making flutes, he was a YMCA Director, HAM Radio operator, award winning woodcarver and champion archer with state, regional and national titles.
